NCKU Faculty members, staffs, students and users that have permissions for reservation services.

Application Method
  • The steps for reserving materials in NCKU Discovery System are as written below:
    • 1. Search for material.
    • 2. Click on the name of the material, check for availability in library’s catalogue, material is available for reserve only if the due date is shown.
    • 3. Click on the “Sign in” function and it will take you to the personalized service interface, enter ID number and password.
    • 4. In the reserve items list, if there is more than one copy of material available, please select the material that suits your needs based on each book's due date and the number of users who have already reserved it.
    • 5. After selecting the desired material in the “Requests” column, click the “Send Request” button to complete the reservation.
  • Number of items available for different users to borrow are as follows:
    • 1. Full time faculty and doctors: 15 volumes.
    • 2. Adjunct faculty and doctors: 10 volumes.
    • 3. Graduate students: 10 volumes.
    • 4. Undergraduate students: 10 volumes.
    • 5. Staffs/Affiliated Tainan Industrial Senior High School of NCKU faculty members: 10 volumes.
    • 6. Affiliated Senior Industrial Vocational Continuing Education High School of NCKU/ Affiliated Tainan Industrial Senior High School of NCKU students: 5 volumes.
    • 7. Retirees and Alumni: 5 volumes.
    • 8. NCKU Library honorary friends, members, volunteers, continuing education credit classes and temporary workers: 2 volumes.
Notice
  • Users can only reserve books and audiovisual materials that have already been borrowed. Map collection room materials and course reserve items are not included. Please check your reservation status on the Discovery System under “Requests” and proceed to the library to complete the borrowing process within the given retention period.
  • The retention period for books and audiovisual material after returning are 7 days and 3 days respectively. Users will be suspended from reserving materials for 30 days after accumulating a total of 5 volumes (items) from overdue collection past the retention period.
