Provide users with services for borrowing NCKU Library’s Closed Stacks materials.

All users

• Books, theses and dissertations and old reference materials stored in the Main Library Closed Stacks
• Periodicals from the Main Library Closed Stacks
• Materials from Annan Campus Closed Stacks
• Materials from Medical Branch Library Closed Stacks

• The Discovery System collection catalogue will show the collection location as “Main Library Closed Stacks” or “Medical Branch Library Closed Stacks” or “Annan Campus Closed Stacks”.
• Users that require access to materials stored in the closed stacks may fill in the material request form at each floor’s service desk of the Main Library and Medical Branch Library or apply on the Discovery System (on-campus readers can log-in to make a reservation while off-campus readers must fill in the off-campus reader material request form).
• The Staff will retrieve the materials during office hours upon receiving the material request form. After retrieving the materials, the staff will notify the requester via email or phone within one business day.
• Retrieval time and date will be scheduled separately by the staff for Annan Campus Closed Stacks. The service hours for retrieving the books may be adjusted in the event of bad weather conditions, lack of manpower or transportation issues.
• Once the requester receives an email notice, the requester shall proceed to collect the item at the Main Library or Medical Branch Library within the given time period. Otherwise, the item will be reshelved.
• Users borrowing materials from the closed stacks shall adhere to the relevant regulations outlined in the "National Cheng Kung University Library Rules for Loan Services of Books and Materials"
