The SPARK is located on the first floor of the Main Library. It serves as a creative space for hosting small lectures or workshops and features 24 modular seats that can be freely arranged, as well as approximately 20 tiered seats. The area is equipped with a whiteboard stretching the entirety of the wall and projection computer facilities. When no events are held, it is open for general reading and used by library patrons.

- 1. Please read the National Cheng Kung University Library Guidelines for the Management of Venue Space of the Library before applying.
- 2. The number of users for each event is set between 20 and 50 people.
- 3. Usage times available for reservation are from 9am-5pm. Only 1 reservation is accepted within the same time slot for a maximum of 4 hours per session.
- 4. Reservations can be made for usage dates within 6 months and registration must be completed at least 7 days prior to the intended date of use.
- 5. The library will review the applications and results will be notified via E-mail.
- 6. The borrower or representative must check-in with a valid library card 20 minutes before the intended usage time. Any late registrations would result in cancellation of reservations.
- 7. Cancellations should be made 7 days in advance of the event date if the borrower is unable to use the space due to circumstances. Failure to do so will result in the library cancelling the reservation and a penalty point in accordance to the National Cheng Kung University Library Rules for Reader Violations.
- 8. Applicants must personally or appoint a representative to liaise with the library‘s responsible staff to confirm venue arrangements 7 business days before the reserved usage date (9am-5pm, 12noon – 1pm lunch break). Additionally, personnel should be assigned to assist in setting up equipment and test an hour before the event.
- 9. Applications for activities involving product promotion or commercial behavior are not accepted.
- 10. Event posters must be approved by the library in advance before posting.
- 11. Food, drinks, prohibited items and pets are not allowed.
- 12. Please refrain from making loud noises in indoor spaces of the library.
- 13. Please take care of personal belongings which includes money, books and equipment. The library bears no responsibility for taking care of any belongings left behind and will remove it during closing time.
- 14. To ensure rights of users, the library reserves the right to verify identification at any time where users must comply. Users will be required to leave immediately and handled according to the National Cheng Kung University Library Guidelines for the Management of Venue Space of the Library if found without valid identification, identity fraud, possessing forged IDs, magnetic tags or altered IDs.
- 15. According to the Executive Yuan Document No. 1090201804A, dated 18th of December 2020, information and communication products from mainland Chinese manufacturers are prohibited for use.
