1. Changes in Library Services during COVID-19 (Updated November 3, 2021):
  • (1) Implementation Period: November 3 (Wed)
  • (2) Library Hours:
    • 1. The Main Library: From September 13 the Library will be open Monday to Friday from 8:20 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 9:20 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
    • 2. The Medical Library: From September 13 the Library will be open Monday to Friday from 8:20 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • 3. The KnowLEDGE: From October 4 the Library will be open 24/7. (From October 4 Future Venue will be open 24/7; From October 12 D24 will be open 24/7))
  • (3) Library Open Area:All seats will be entirely available and the restrictions in the checkerboard seating and maximum capacity will be cancelled from November 3.
    • 1. The Main Library:All areas of the Main Lib will be open to the public. (B1F Conference Center, Art Gallery, Training Room, Auditorium, Small Group Viewing Room, and Library Outdoor Event Venues are bookable for NCKU units) Applicants must follow CDC regulations, submit an epidemic prevention checklist and plan and adjust on a rolling basis according to the school’s epidemic policy.
    • 2. The Medical Library: All areas of the Medical Library will be open to the public.
    • 3. The KnowLEDGE: All areas of the KnowLEDGE will be open to the public.The discussion and interaction areas in the KnowLEDGE are open for reservations and activities.
    • * The Group Study Rooms 2A (207), 2B (208) and 3B (332) are available for booking.
  • (4) Access to Library Facilities:All current NCKU faculty, staff and students are required to show NCKU ID card, wear a mask, undergo a temperature check and use hand sanitizer.NCKU libraries will be open to all visitors on October 19.
    • 1. The Main Library: Main entrance and exit door on the 1st floor will be marked for single entry and exit. The entrance and exit door on B1 will remain closed, but B3 will reopen.50 visitors will be allowed in the Main Library at a time.
    • 2. The Medical Library: Main entrance and exit door on the 1st floor will be marked for single entry and exit.25 visitors will be allowed in the Medical Library at a time.
    • 3. The KnowLEDGE: Main entrance and exit door on the 1st floor will be marked for single entry and exit.
  • (5) Library Services:
    • 1. You can borrow and return books, pay overdue fines, go through graduation procedure, submit thesis/dissertation or pick up requested Interlibrary Loan items via the 1F Information Desk.

  • (6) Readers must wear mask at all times while in the Library except while drinking water and temperature check is mandatory before entering the Library. If your forehead temperature is equal to or higher than 37.5°C., please do not enter the library and seek medical attention immediately.
  • (7) Before accessing library databases remotely, you must first set up and connect to the VPN, please refer to the instruction to set up VPN.

    • 1. The service will be only limited to the printed journals held at the NCKU Library.
    • 2. The service is only available to current NCKU students, faculty, and staff.

Only a single article from a periodical can be reproduced and the copy is limited to one copy per person.
