New Spaces Coming Soon to the 4th and 5th Floors of the Main Library – Stay Tuned!

Closure Notices:
•The Deutsche Bibliothek on the 4th floor will be closed from September 26 to December
 20, 2025.
•The Study Carrel on the 5th floor will be unavailable from October 1 to December
 20, 2025.

The third phase of the Main Library's space renovation project will primarily focus on the west-side reading area, the copy room,the atrium on the 4th floor, and the study carrel on the 5th floor. Construction is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2025, with demolition starting on October 2. This will be followed by flooring and carpentry work. Significant construction noise is expected from the 3rd to 5th floors for approximately one month. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

To help reduce disturbance, earplugs will be available in the self service area on the 1st floor and the quiet reading area on the 4th floor.

Feel free to take a pair if needed, or consider using quieter areas on the lower floors, the Medical Library, the KnowLEDGE, or the Future Venue during this period.

During construction, the following areas will be temporarily closed to isolate noise and dust and to ensure safety:
•The fire door and fire-resistant roller shutter between the 4th-floor elevator lobby and the
 Deutsche Bibliothek.
•The fire-resistant roller shutter between the 4th-floor copy room and the atrium.
•The fire-resistant roller shutter between the 5th-floor elevator lobby and the Study Carrel.
