1. Changes in Library Services during COVID-19 (Updated March 6, 2023):
  • (1) Implementation Period: March 6, 2023 (Mon)
  • (2) Library Hours:
    • 1. Main Library: From September 13, 2021 the Library will be open Monday to Friday from 8:20 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 9:20 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
    • 2. Medical Library: From September 13, 2021 the Library will be open Monday to Friday from 8:20 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • 3. KnowLEDGE: From October 4, 2021 the Library will be open 24/7. (From October 4 Future Venue will be open 24/7; From October 12 D24 will be open 24/7)
  • (3) Library Open Area:All seats will be entirely available and the restrictions in the checkerboard seating and maximum capacity will be cancelled from November 3, 2021.
    • 1. Main Library: All areas of the Main Library will be open to the public. (B1F Conference Center, Art Gallery, and Training Room are bookable for Non-NCKU units from March 16, 2022) Applicants must follow CDC regulations, and guidelines for venue borrowing will be adjusted on a rolling basis according to the school’s epidemic policy.
    • 2. Medical Library: All areas of the Medical Library will be open to the public.
    • 3. KnowLEDGE: All areas of the KnowLEDGE will be open to the public. The discussion and interaction areas in the KnowLEDGE are open for reservations and activities.
  • (4) Access to Library Facilities:Masks will not be mandatory in NCKU libraries, yet masks are recommended if COVID-19 symptoms are present and social distancing with unknown persons cannot be maintained.NCKU libraries are open to all visitors from October 19, 2021.
  • (5) Library Services:
    • 1. You can borrow and return books, pay overdue fines, go through graduation procedure, submit thesis/dissertation or pick up requested Interlibrary Loan items via the 1F Information Desk.

  • (6) Before accessing library databases remotely, you must first set up and connect to the VPN, please refer to the instruction to set up VPN.

    • 1. The service will be only limited to the printed journals held at the NCKU Library.
    • 2. The service is only available to current NCKU students, faculty, and staff.

    • 7. Restrictions: According to Article 48 of the Copyright Act, this service is provided solely for research and private study. Only a single article from a periodical can be reproduced and the copy is limited to one copy per person. Anything not specified here regarding this service will be subject to the governance of Article 65 of the Copyright Act.
